Properties and applications of stretch film
Stretch film is a common packaging material, which is divided into food-grade and non-food-grade types.
Food-grade stretch film has a number of advantages, which is why it is in high demand. Non-food-grade film differs in composition and properties: it is vapour-impermeable, denser and stronger, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.

The top layer of film adheres easily to the bottom layer, so ‘packing’ furniture doesn’t take long. In construction. Stretch film can be used to temporarily seal door and window openings. It is elastic and dense enough to protect against rain and dirt.
- In beauty treatments. Stretch film manufacturers recommend using it for all kinds of body wraps: it allows the skin to breathe; improves the absorption of balms and creams; and enhances the effect of the treatment.
- In greenhouses and mini-greenhouses. As the material ‘breathes’, it is not harmful to plants. Unlike many other types of film, this film retains heat and promotes rapid plant growth. And thanks to its light weight, it simplifies the installation process.
Interesting facts about stretch film:
- It is resistant to temperature fluctuations and retains its transparency and attractive appearance for a long time;
